I was recommended this place from a local when I visited Fukuoka for 1 week , I went to many seafood markets in Japan and this one didn’t disappoint, affordable prices , top quality seafood, you can see the fresh oysters cought by fishermen in the little port outside the market. The bus from the market to Chikuzenmaebara train station is rare , so you might consider get a taxi which will charge 3000¥ , it’s good to find other people near the station and split the price , if there are 2 couples the price will be 1500¥ per couple , if you have the whole day take the bus with only 200¥ . Enjoy
We were lucky to catch the end of the oyster season. Prices are reasonable. You grill the seafood yourself. English menu available. a great place to hang out with friends and family while having fresh delicious seafood. other shellfish also available.
2nd time here as their oysters season tends to end later than other areas in Itoshima. Fukuoka-now website has dates for the season start & end dates, so check before you go. Apart from grilling the fresh seafood, we ordered their specialities: sashimi rice bowls (negitoro-don, hamachi don, salmon don) and the oyster rice. There is no English menu so just look at the pictures and order! The experience of "exploding" oysters was well worth the drive out to the fishing port! Plus you get a kick out of eating seafood that is so fresh and cheap!!
Wonderful place for charcoal-grilled oysters! Be sure to wear the jackets provided at the entrance—they’re definitely needed. One of the oysters ‘exploded,’ and hot seawater splashed on me. So, avoid wearing fancy clothes and be cautious while grilling. The oysters are incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly, helpful, and honest. In fact, when we were accidentally overcharged for a dish, one of the staff members ran outside to return the extra payment. Great service

A must when in Fukuoka or Kyushu. Great experience, so delicious and fresh seashells. Just try not to wear light-colored clothes as the ash from grill flies everywhere, probably best is to wear something black and not sensitive. Also it is recommended to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from spark
The oysters are very fresh and full, the other shell is also delicious, this is the second time I went to an oyster house, very nice to have dine with friends
